To Peter, Geoff, Krista, Scott and Mrs.Fleming-

Both my mother (Betty) and myself were sad to hear of the news of Dan's passing. I will always remember him for his patience showed me when I would totally mess up while assisting him as an alter boy in the early 70's and how he never seemed impatient when I would wash his hands with wine instead of water or forget to move the bible from Epistle to Gospel or numerous other things that should have helped his service move along more swiftly. We are sorry that we could not attend but a farewell prayer has been said and I personally shall hold my own little wake while camping this weekend in his memory.

Dear Muriel
MY HEART IS SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF DAN. HE WAS THE FIRST ONE I SHARED AN OFFICE WITH WHEN I STARTED AT ST.MARGARET'S MANY YEARS AGO. HE WAS A VERY KIND & GENEROUS MAN. ONE THAT WAS LOVED BY ALL. ONE WHO WILL BE SADLY MISSED. SINCEREST SYMPATHY TO YOU & YOUR FAMILY.

Dear Muriel,
You will remember that Dan was one of my Supervisors in training ordinands for ministry back in the '70's and '80's. He was a great mentor, because his instincts about people and their concerns were very good - and he taught his students how to care compassionately and responsibly. He also had a good sense of humour, and could laugh at himself and he met situations such that they always became more approachable. He and I shared many a good laugh.
I know these last years in care were very hard on him, and doubtless on you and the family. I am sure you are all relieved that he has now moved on to the next chapter in this life.
My thoughts and prayers are also with you as you can now move to life without constant care.
Best
(The Rev. Dr.) Don Thompson

My condolences go out to the Fleming family. Dan was very kind to my dad in 1991 in his final weeks of life. I'm sure my dad Rev. Canon W. T Whyte of Montreal really appreciated all of Dan's kindness, and spiritual fullness.

Dear Muriel, Alan and I are very sad to learn of Dan's death. It's almost exactly 28 years since Dan christened our son James at Christ Church Rawdon (James was 28 last Wednesday). I recall many a fun evening playing pool with Dan at our home in Rawdon. Dan was a wonderful person and we thoroughly enjoyed knowing him. He was an inspiration to us. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Diane
