Earl Burton, your obituary is so wonderfully written, it brought a big smile to my face, as I know it did for so many others. You were an amazing man in a challenging era of our history, navigating a challenging federal bureaucracy, as I too did for 36 years. God bless you and may your memory continue to be a blessing, and bring smiles and hope.

I am saddened to find out my mentor, friend and idol from FDA has passed away. Earl was many things to his family and to the FDA. For those of us who were lucky enough to have worked for Earl in his Boston days, we have nothing but admiration and respect for what he taught us and his even-handed approach to managing. Earl was one of those rare individuals that people wanted to work and do a good job for. He was a manager and a friend. He has, is and will be missed by me.
Condolences to his family and many friends.

We so loved Earl. He came to all of our family celebrations and always brought his joy and humor. He made us laugh. He watched us all change and grow through the years. He was like family. We will miss him but his spirit will always be with us.

Look at that smile! That's Uncle Earl...always smiling. I can't remember a time when Uncle Earl didn't smile. God blessed me when I met his sister, Ms. Ellie. I became a Burton for life! Uncle Earl was definitely a favorite Uncle and a beloved brother. He was smart, witty, charming and down to earth. He kept it 100 as the kids used to say. He loved my cooking, especially my recipes for Beef and Gravy / Mac and Cheese. Uncle Earl, you will be missed. Love you bunches!

The single most certain thing you would experience spending time with Mr. Burton, is a wide smile spread across your face. He radiated.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. I´ve known Earl for a good portion of my life. About 30 years, and I just knew, he didn´t age. He´s been such a part of our family and this News definitely hit hard. I´ve learned so much more about him reading this and truly understand what an amazing man he was. My condolences to you and your family. May he Rest In Peace.

Charming, entertaining and boy that smile could light up a room. I connected to Earl through a mutual friend, Debbie Bragg. There was never a time that when I saw him, that he wasn't in a delightful mood. His positivity was contagious. Sending my sincere condolences to the family.
