Earl Cobbin Obituary
Born in Isola, Miss. on February 10, 1942. He moved to Akron in 1969 where he worked for Tri-State Plating Co. for 20 years. Soon after that Earl owned his own business, "Portage Plating" where he also worked for 18 years, retiring in 2007.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earlist and Elizabeth Cobbin; brothers, Willie and Eddie. He leaves to cherish his memories, wife of 47 years, Maxine (aka Sweetbaby); daughter, Connie of Akron, Ohio; sons, Ernest (Michelle) of Brimfield, Ohio, Del (Lisa) of Ravenna, Ohio, Michael (Sarah) of Akron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Ollie Butler, Deazaeree (John) Guider, both of Chicago, Ill., Bunny (Tyrone) McCray and Patricia Cobbin of Racine, Wis.; brothers, Jesse B, Cleauthor (Linda), Roy (Glenda) Cobbin, all of Racine Wis., W.J. Cobbin of Chicago, Ill., Joseph Cobbin of Applevalley, Minn.; uncles, Hosie (Alma) McCoy of Dallas, Texas, E.B. of Chicago, Ill.; aunts, Bernice Thompson, Billy MCCoy of Chicago, Ill.; mother-in-law, Mariah Lake; sister-in-law, Linda (Roy) Williams; brothers-in-law, Charles (Gloria) Brooks of Memphis, Tenn., Robert Brooks of Boston; godsons, Gary and Garnette Jones; adopted children, Annette and Eunice Hampton, Carlisa and Barbara Canty, Kyla Wilford, Thomas Stallworth, Carmillia Jefferies; special friends, Henry and Ozzelia Milton, all of Akron, Ohio, Paul Blasinsky of Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 940 McKinley Ave. with Rev. Lorenzo Glenn officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 2430 Myersville Rd., 44312.
