I have lived next door to Lou (Julia) and Earl Dunn for 21 years. It was difficult losing Lou in 2009 but losing Earl a tremendous loss not only to me but to my neighbors on Sagamore Dr @ The Cardinal. Earl was a most generous man and always looked out for his neighbors. He always enjoyed good food and he especially enjoyed his weekly golf game with his buddies. One of my fondest memories was when he asked me to do a rain dance several years ago during a drought. Needless to say we both got a kick out of it when it rained the next day. I never imagined that when I took Earl to Wesley Long ER on Wednesday that he would not be coming back home. I will miss him terribly. Toni Tagert

I am so sad to hear of Earl's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him for such a short time, but he was always a joy. He ate breakfast regularly at the restaurant where I work part-time. I loved to discuss politics and baseball with him, and he he always appreciated a good joke! I will always remember Earl fondly, as will everyone who knew him at the Olympic Family Restaurant.

Our dad Colvin Staley worked for Earl for many years in the concrete business. He and Lou were very special people to our family. Mom would have me call Earl every time I was in town to see her. He will be greatly missed.

Kimberly Svedelius Tucker is my daughter-in-law. I met Uncle Earl several years ago at the Svedelius's house. He was a very special person whom I as well will never forget. We like to talk politics. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family in Texas and here in North Carolina.

I grew up in the house behind Earl and Louise's residence in the Guilford College area many years ago. They both were very special neighbors/friends whom I shall never forget. My brother and I loved them dearly. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family at this time.
