Earl Flint Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 19, 2025.
Earl Thomas Flint, 74, passed away on March 16, 2025 in Moseley, VA. Born on December 13, 1950, Earl dedicated his life to his family, his work with the New York State Department of Agriculture, and supporting his community as a volunteer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Genessee Country Village and Museum. Earl was proud of his service in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as The Old Guard, at Arlington Cemetary during the Vietnam War.

Affectionately referred to as Bumper by family and friends, he was a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband. Earl was known for his culinary skills, especially during family gatherings, and his knack for storytelling. His ability to listen, share jokes, and discover new music made him a cherished presence in the lives of those around him. Earl's unwavering support and generosity extended beyond his family, touching the lives of many in his community, a legacy that continues through his children and grandchildren.

Earl was the beloved husband of Eileen (Lane) Flint; father to Jennifer and Jason Flint; father-in-law to Kelly (Nellis) Flint; and a proud grandfather to Joshua and Meagan Laird, and Aidan, McKenna, and Arwen Flint. He is also survived by his sisters, Cathi (Flint) Warzala and Mary (Flint) Shelton. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Eugene and Catherine (Holland) Flint, and his sister, Patricia (Flint) Fobare.

Educated at Kemble School and Utica Free Academy, Earl furthered his studies at Monroe Community College from 1968 to 1970. His hobbies included fishing, cooking, music, gardening, baseball, and woodworking, each of which reflected his passion for life and love for creation.

A memorial service will be held in Midlothian, Virginia, at a future date. Those wishing to honor Earl's memory are encouraged to make a donation in his name to the charity of their choice.

Sending our condolences to the Flint family who we all grew up with us around Lincoln playground. Earl was my brother David's friend and Patti and Cathi were both mine and my sister Fran's friends. Cathi is also godmother to my son Eric. Very special lady who I truly miss. We were very close and had picnics and swimming at the park or Addison Miller pool. I have very fond memories of our younger years together. We all went our separate ways as we all do. Sending special hugs to Cathi and Mary and the rest of the family from the Servatius family. Love you all!
