My first remembrance of Earl Holiman was the movie, Forbidden Planet. He was not one of the movie's big star but his performance put him right up there. I remember several shows he starred in one of which was Twilight Zone. I have been missing you on the silver screen and now you have left us. Thanks for your body of work. Rest in Peace.

I´m so sorry to hear about Mr. Holliman´s passing. He was someone I would have liked to have known.
We keep telling ourselves that there is time tomorrow, always time. But it´s not true. I wish I had found a way to contact him, years ago. He has been one of my inspirations for making my way into acting; he always seemed so at-ease, on the screen.
I do hope that your family is doing well, and that the pain of his loss will ease, with time.
With Warm Regards, and my Sympathy,
Clinton Riddle

I met Earl at the Loft Inn B&B where I stayed for 18 years while attending the James Dean Festival in Fairmount Indiana. We had all finished having a lovely breakfast and were chatting together when a small group of people showed up at the back door looking for breakfast ! Our innkeeper didn't usually serve the public breakfasts but she and I, and another guest, rolled up our sleeves and welcomed them in. They were a nice bunch and we gave them " the works"! After they had eaten we were all talking and I asked Earl if I could have a picture with him. He was still sitting down so I asked (rather brazenly), if I could sit in his lap for the photo. He laughed and said," sure, why not"!! I still have the picture in my archives. Earl will always be associated with Jimmie in my memory, and be the homey kind of actor I remember from the old days. My condolences to his loved ones.

Earl Holliman was always one of my favorite actors, even when I was a child. He had such charisma. When I decided to go into acting, I couldn´t believe it when the first job I got was on a Police Woman doing a scene with him. He came to introduce himself to every new actor in the episode. What class!
Much, much later in life, I realized we had moved two blocks from him. We spoke on the phone a few times and he was the epitome of kindness. He would tell me about the people he had worked with and the experiences of his life. He was a great actor and man and I was privileged to know him even in the smallest way.

So sorry Craig. My last call was only last month. I think I finally convinced Earl that Anzio with Mitchum was one of his finest performances. He loved that I held the "Earl Holliman Film Festival" at home for my daughter so she would appreciate our friend as an actor. Meg remembers him from the old Actors and Others dinners back in the day. We always paid tribute to his work heading that organization.
Decades ago Earl volunteered to be in my "how to" video on adopting animals, Safe House. Eventually I took in his flock of two dozen pet pigeons that he'd kept safe for years! Though we'd remove the eggs and put in wooden ones at his suggestion, every time we unexpectedly had a baby pigeon I'd call Earl to tell him that his flock lives on! He got a kick out of that.
He wasn't feeling well last month and I held my breath knowing what he was telling me. But it still comes as a shock. Farewell for now old friend.

Craig, sorry to hear this news. Earl was such a wonderful friend to my uncle Patrik. His friendship never waivered and Patrik could alway count on a weekly call from Earl, just to check in. I often heard them converse about the wonderful care you provided him in these last few years. He was very lucky to have such a loving devoted husband. He will be missed.

I first noticed Earl in 1974 when I'd just graduated from Army boot camp & saw Police Woman & thereafter kept him on my top-5 mental favorites list. Imagine how incredible it was to become his phone buddy for the last 16 years as an ordinary fan/farm kid from the boonies. Although it was only by phone & mail, the relationship with Earl was the warmest, sweetest thing I'll ever have. He was so sweet, kind, generous, & considerate, aside from the great talent & handsome, well-built bod. Grateful to now have the fan group so I can share his jokes, pictures & stories with many other fans & that will help me carry on. Ronda L Anderson, Mora, MN

Earl was my Aunt Gracies brother. I saw him last at her funeral in Delhi, Louisiana. I was always excited about the autographed photos he mailed to us when we were teenagers. Fly high Louisiana legend. Thanks for following your dreams.
