Earl D. McGinn, 76, died September 24, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS.

He was born, May 21, 1949, at Newton, to Don Joe and Helen M. (Adamson) McGinn.

He was a 1967 graduate of Sedgwick High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Emporia.

On November 8, 1969, he married Susan Marie Corkill at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.

He worked as CFO for Lobo Cattle Co. and later Southwest Developmental Services where he retired. While living in Garden City, he served as Finney Co. Fair Board President, Chamber of Commerce President, and was highly involved in Jaycees on a local and state level. Earl returned to Sedgwick for years to help with the family's wheat harvest. He shared his talented singing voice throughout his life at family and public celebrations and was well known for performing "Ave Maria" and the national anthem. He found joy in attending his daughters' sporting events, music recitals, school activities and loved to support them in their various 4-H projects. He was a skilled woodworker, creating loved pieces for family and friends. Throughout his life, he loved to travel to the family cabin in New Mexico, all the various homes of his daughters, celebrations at fun locations and events for his grandchildren. He supported his grandchildren, their schools, sports, and theater productions. He was also an avid fan of KU basketball, the Chiefs and the Royals.

Survivors include his wife, daughters: Tanya (Richard Paolo) McGinn, Orlando, FL; Sarah Keating, Paris, AR; Cathy (Wes) Stevens, Olathe; brother: C.G. (Deb) McGinn, Sedgwick, and four grandchildren; Courtney (Ian) Neiswender, Nic and Grace Paolo, and Emily Keating.

He was preceded in death by sisters; JoEllen Koerner, Nancy Rice and her infant twin brother, LeRoy Joseph McGinn.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Harper's Barn, 8426 South Ridge Road, Sedgwick, KS.

Memorials may be given to Sedgwick High School Alumni Scholarship Fund or Caring Hands Humane Society in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.

The College of Emporia went out of business in 1974, but its active alumni association continues to this day. Earl helped to keep the association going, serving as President in 2024. Earl will be greatly missed.
