President Earl Monson was serving in Auckland NZ with Quinton Cook, Area President in 2000. He was a thoughtful caring person. We loved him and his wife and attended church together. His talks were interesting and uplifting. We remember sitting in front of them and feeling his great booming voice singing. We were there after being evacuated from Fiji following a coup.

Brother Monson came to Primary recently to share his experience and interesting stories about temple building. It was such a sweet and tender Sharing Time experience! So grateful he would take the time to bring all his pictures and share his moving stories with his ward Primary children.
We had the great pleasure of spending several hours in the car driving with Brother Monson to and from a youth conference, where he was the featured speaker. He taught us to believe that there is a plan for our lives, and brought great hope to the future of those young people. Those private moments of conversation in the car were some of the most special.
We loved Brother Monson so much in our ward. He is a true saint, and will be sorely missed.
All of our love to his family,
Sister DeAnn Larsen
