Earl F. Simmons Jr.

SIMMONS, Earl F., Jr. of Sand Lake, Michigan, formerly of Kawkawlin passed away as a result of cancer Thursday, September 8, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas at the age of 79. Earl was an avid hunter and had a passion for blooperball. He also enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. He is survived by his daughters, Jane Rugenstine and Shannon Pauwels; his sons Mark, Earl III, Jim, and Andrew Simmons; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and long-time companion Nettie Prokopenko. He was predeceased by his parents and his son Fred. Honoring Earl's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Home West with Rev. Doug Kennedy officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the Simmons family.
