I met Professor Earle L. Wrenn Jr. In 1987 during his journey with Professor Thomas M. Holder to Thailand. Both of them presented their valuable works in pediatric surgery at International surgical meeting held in Bangkok,Thailand. Both of them were kindful and great teachers.
Professor Earle L. Wrenn was a mentor of Dr. Numhom who taught me to be a pediatric surgeon. Only great memory of a grand teacher.
My sincere condolences to your family.

I am 52 year old mother of three and Dr. Wrenn was a part of my life from when I was 4 until I was 12. I had VUR, vesicoureteral Reflux, which is now tested and cured through some simple procedures. Instead of having invasive surgeries, he guided my parents through antibiotic treatments and cured me. Even though he was a great and accomplished surgeon, he was most of all a great doctor who could see and understand the big picture and the whole patient. Only great memories of this man. Condolences to the family.

I knew your husband and father as a surgeon when my eight month old son needed surgery. Dr. Wrenn was so reassuring to a frighted set of young parents, and I deeply appreciate his gentle and kind treatment of my son (and his parents) 33 years later. My sincere condolences to your family.

A kind man with a love and passion of caring for children. The things he taught me about the operating room I still use every day.

Earle Wrenn and Bobby Allen were the founders of Pediatric Surgery in Memphis. Like so many Physicians, I was honored by their reflected glory.

I met Earle when he and Lynette visited Memphis and had dinner with the Division of Pediatric Surgery he founded. His grace and dignity were immediately apparent as was his sparkling wit and intellect. Since that visit it has been a privilege to share several more visits including a dinner on Earle's 89th birthday at the Lilliputian meeting in St. Louis. He remains an inspiration for me personally and the men and women who follow in his footsteps caring for children at LeBonheur. We will keep Lynette in our prayers and Earle's memory in our hearts.

Earle was a gentleman surgeon at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital when I was new faculty in the department of radiology. He was an exemplar of everything a physician should be and first of all a kind and caring human being.

A gentle man and an exemplary surgeon. LeBonheur hasn't been the same without him. I worked with Dr. Wrenn in the ICU and the OR. His kindness and his faith was a part of everything he did. He will always be in my heart and the things he taught me will always be a part of the way I care for children.

Wow! What an amazing man! So sorry for your loss. Even at that age it is never easy for the family. I will remember him as that sweet man sitting at the table with his wife reading. In our thoughts and prayers. Eddie and Susan Stewart
