When I have moved beyond you in the adventure of life, gather in some pleasant place and there remember me with spoken words, old and new. Let a tear if you will, but let a smile come quickly. For I have loved the laughter of life. Do not linger too long with your solemnities. First Lady Earnestine J. Tanner a native of New Hebron, Ms and a resident of New Orleans, La passed away on Saturday March 18, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born to the late Arthur and Edna Mae Moore Johnson, Sr.; Loving wife of 50 years to the late Rev. Dr. Robert D. Tanner Sr., Devoted mother of Dorothy Tanner Evans (Ben), Antoinette Tanner, Edna Sheriee Tanner King (Clarence), Cynthia Tanner Renfro (Tommy), the late Shoneka Tanner Blanton (David), Tymanika Tanner Staggers, Rev. Robert D. Tanner Jr. (Denise) , Pastor of Community Baptist Church and the late Rev. Matthew Tanner Sr. (Elizabeth) former Pastor of Loving Four Baptist Church, also survived by 26 grandchildren, great-grandchildren (the late Jordan) and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Davita Dialysis Center (Kenner), Ochsner Kenner, Perfect Care Transportation Community Connection for all the care given to our mother. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and Members of Community Baptist Church, Loving Four Baptist Church, New Tree of Life Baptist Church and all surrounding churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Community Baptist Church 116 Florida Street, Kenner, La on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 10:00 am. Visitation 9:00 am in the above name church. Internment: Lake Lawn Cemetery 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, La 70124. Please view and sign guestbook at www.dennismortuaryservice.com.
