Ed was a wonderful neighbor and friend. There are so many memories of our kids growing up together. They just gravitated down Fremontia St to the Geis home on Laurel. Then when my parents visited from Arizona they parked their RV in the Geis yard on Ojai Rd. They too treasured the visits with Ed, Norma, and the kids.
Ed and Norma were the most selfless, giving, and caring people in Santa Paula. They both gave their friends and city their all. I feel blessed to have been a part of their lives.

Oh Ed! You were there for me from my first days at Mupu (1982!) through my last days at Mupu (2014). When I was first hired to be the First and Second Grade teacher, you drove me all around Santa Paula looking for places that a young newly-employed (meaning had no money!) woman could rent. I remember you told me I had big shoes to fill-Mrs. Jennings´ shoes to be exact! I was lucky enough to have had Dan and Steve in my class and came to know what stellar parents you and your beloved Norma were. I knew from Day 1 that you had a deep spiritual core, and we shared many conversations about your faith. I remember chuckling when I was teaching the prefix "tri" and Dan said, "Oh! Just like the Holy Trinity!" And I thought to myself, "He´s definitely Ed and Norma´s son!"
So many times you would stop by Mupu in the late afternoon and bring me an ice cream drumstick, and we would walk around the field talking about all the things that mattered to us.
It always touched me how much love and respect you held for your family, your deep faith, and your optimism about the world.
I will always hold you in the highest regard and will never forget the times you went to bat for me, offered me words of encouragement, or just simply waved from that sweet car of yours.

Laura Riggs (lloyd). He made a difference in my life. He was kind, gentle and encouraging. He gave me strength when I had none. He truly cared about his students of which I had the honor to be among the many.

He was never one of my teachers, I do think( if I can remember that far back) he was my drivers ed teacher. We drove the coast area to practice i would talk to him once in a while. He always had a smile on his face. That was always nice to see. I was a quiet, shy teen, but always smiled at him.
Now he can join his loving wife. My condolences to his family.

There are small hand full of people that had the kind of impact on my life that of Mr Geis. He made you feel valued as he listened to what was going on in your life. He was a giver, shared himself making life long impacts. God made someone very special, lasting and forever.

Ed & Norma, what a wonderful example of love, joy and peace you shared with your children and the community of Santa Paula. We knew you professionally as a fellow educator but you also represented us as our realtor, helping us to purchase our home in Upper Ojai. You always had that ready smile and we considered you a dear friend. Much love to your family. Paul & Angie Royle

Condolences to his beautiful Family.
Mr. Geis was my favorite teacher during my high school years, (40 + years ago),,,everytime I've thought of him throughout the years, my heart would smile and I've always thought how lucky I was to have had him as a teacher (and as my realtor during a very difficult time in my life.) Thank you God for putting him in my path. May many memories, which are now little treasures, help us all thru,,,

To all of Ed's children:
I am saddened by the news that Ed passed away. He was such a wonderful man and truly loved all of you.
Your father was so special and anytime I saw him, either in Boston or CA, he made me feel valued. I remember your mom and him flying into Tew-Mac airport after a long cross country trip in a two seater plane. Debbie was about 6 months old and they brought her out to meet the Boston gang.
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
