GOODBYE ED, THE LOBE KING. WE WILL ALL CHERISH OUR MEMORIES OF THE MASTER GRINDER. THROUGH ED'S PERSISTANCE AND FORTITUDE THE HOT ROD ENTHUSIAST'S INDUSTRY WAS BUILT UP THROUGH HIS DEDICATED MOUNTAIN OF WORK. The passing of a true legend. At the age of 8 I learned who Ed was through reading the tech articles and such from any enthusiast magazine I could get my hands on. By '72 as a twelve year old i got a HOT ROD magazine subscription and truly learned to value the impact that Ed imparted on the hobby and the industry...God Bless and my truest sympathies to
Ed's family and friends

A long life filled with many accomplishments, many in the racing world. He was one of the greatest in racing with his creative and innovative thinking. For decades he made so many contributions in racing that included building cars and engines. It was evident that racing was his passion. Sincere condolences to the Iskenderian family. May God be with you all in your time of loss.

I grew up in Norwich Connecticut and had "ISKY" cams proudly displayed on my 1964 Ford Galaxy 427 cid. in 1973. I drove it to the Tech school I was attending and everyone knew and respected that modification!! I am Sad to hear of the Passing of ED ISKENDARIAN...Walt Panus @ J&W Automotion Glen Ellen California . Thanks ED

Truly a legend in hot rodding....to have his speed decal on your car was something special back in the day - more so if you had one of his camshafts in your engine.

All the old "hot-rodders" have known about the "Camfather" over the years.
In 1981, I was in California pertaining to some business with Childs and Albert.
I stayed at my brother's in San Diego. While there, Emery called Isky and told him we were going to come up and let him buy our lunch. He said to have Nick there, as we wanted to talk to him.
We ate with Isky, his friend, and Nick Arias, at the corner restaurant. In the conversation, Isky said that I had some good ideas and to let him know when I was ready for a cam. Getting back to the shop, Isky had a tight schedule, but he took the time to show me his Roadster with the Overhead-Converted Flathead, sitting near the old Dyno.
A few years ago, I began working on plans for a modern "Cook and Bedwell Dragster". I sent Isky an Information Sheet, letting him know that I was closer to getting ready for that cam.
The Racing World has become accustomed to Isky's Centennial-Plus Birthday Celebrations.
I am thankful that he made it so long.
Ed "The Camfather/Isky" Iskenderian will be missed.
Condolences.
Respectfully, Dale Cook ===

HemiGeorge mentioned his meeting and interaction with Ed in certain discussions; both men were great people with kind hearts.

Im part of the Crisalli family (Robert& Kim), because we were neighbors Ed and I shared our love of cats. He was the nicest man and I will miss him terribly. He opened his world/home to me and loved the kitties so much. He was so well known so I´ll keep this short. He had goldfish to control the mosquitoes, enjoyed his privacy, cared for others and just was a wonderful man! I will miss his laugh and never forget his kindness. I just wanted you to know he was more than the legend he was a lovely man to me and I´ll never forget him ( or his ways). Kim

Was fortunate enough to see him and Big Daddy cruising around in his hot rod at Baylands raceway many years ago. Unfortunately I lost that one and many other great photos to a fire that took our neighborhood and all that we owned, but I still have that memory in my mind. Rest in peace "Camfather" your innovations will live on forever.

Mr. Iskenderian, in my early years 50s/60s I & my friends sold & used many of your Flathead Ford V8 products. Your memory & accomplishments are forever etched in the soul of auto racing.
