I am terriblly sorry for your loss.
He worked on my fireplace and did a great job that no other company had been successful to repair it. His response was prompt and he was very kind. As par my recommendation, my friend had him work for her the same season. He just paint and make up the appearance better before being asked which is exceeding his job of cleaning. She was very happy with his job, too. I remember that morning he and I with my neibor who happen to visit me had coffee and laughed chattering after his work. I called him next winter to ask for cleaning my fireplace. How astonished I was to learn that he had got killed a month ago. The gentleman whom he identified Ed's brother-in-law answered the phone and did work for me in place of Ed. His work was excelent, too. I need his servis for my fireplace now. I wish I had the contact number of Ed's successor.
It is hard to believe that Ed is gone. The motor he replaced for my fireplace still works well with no trouble. My deepest condolences to the Schellenberg.

I, as someone who loves their father, understands the strong bonds that exist and I cannot imagine how horrible a feeling this event was for this family. I have heard the story, I have seen the power of healing, and I have been touched by both! I have never met this man, but I have witnessed the good he has done first hand, in the spirit of his daughter.... Mr Schellenberg? You would be proud!

I didn't know Ed, but I am friends with Kevin. I know that anyone capable of raising such a kind, caring, and generous son must have been a wonderful person, and I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I'm sure it will always be hard but I hope that you can find some comfort in the fact that so many people out there loved Ed, and love you as well. My thoughts are with you, even now.

A week before he met with his death, Ed Schellenberg came out to White Rock to see about a suspected leak in my neighbour's fireplace. He drove from Abbotsford on that rainy night, and I was quite struck by his courtesy and professional helpfulness. Not only did he solve the problem but he set my neighbour's mind at rest and went out of his way to communicate with someone who wasn't very conversant in English. He was a gentleman and a kind man, and I was so sorry to hear of his untimely death. My sincere sympathies to his wife and family.

This world is a sadder place without Ed and heaven is rejoicing at his arriving. My family and I knew him in Hay River NWT. In fact we started a wonderul family tradition bwecause of him. We have popcorn for dinner every so often and have a wonderful time of family togetherness. He and his wife Lois told me that , that is what they like to do for fun sometimes and I adopted it as one of our family treats. Ed was a wonderful man and he will be missed!

Lois, Rachael, and Kevin
Our thoughts and prayers are always on our minds for you. I find my thoughts are hard to put down on paper. One thing stands out for my memories is: At Ed's mom's (my aunt) funeral, I asked Ed if I could have a doll from his mom's collection. He sent me a package with a little doll in it a few weeks later. I have it in my curio cabinet. Now when I look at it, it will have another special memory for me.
May God continue his perfect work in you and give you peace.
God bless you.

We send our deepest sympathies to all of you. As was previously stated over and over again Ed was a very special person , always smiling and friendly with everyone. He has touched so many hearts and will be deeply missed by all of us. Willy and Ed, being cousins, spent much of their childhood together going fishing and catching the fish with just a string and a hook. This childhood friendship continued into adulthood and we are blessed to have many special memories. May the Lord comfort and watch over all of you as you go through these difficult days ahead.

Dear Lois, Rachel, and Kevin,
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you as you mourn the loss of Ed, your beloved husband and father. It was my privilege to get to know Ed both at Northwest Baptist College and Immanuel Baptist during our time in BC during the late 1990s. I particularly remember working with him in the Christian Service Brigade at the church. He truly was a humble and gracious man who loved and served his Lord well.
When we heard of the tragic circumstances of his death, we were truly taken back and since then we have continued to petition our heavenly Father on your behalf, especially praying that our Lord will give you comfort, strength, and grace during this incredibly difficult time. May your comfort be found in knowing that you will see Ed again because of the work of our Lord Jesus Christ and that even though he is now gone, you will be reunited in the resurrection. Be assured that our prayers are with you at this time and may you continue to look to the Lord for strength, help, and encouragement in your time of need.
With our love and prayers,
Steve & Karen Wellum and family

What a shock - no it can't be Ed. But the Lord saw fit to take Ed into His Kingdom. As God does not give us more than we can bear, He also saw that Ed's family has the strength in their relationship with Him to bear this suffering and sacrifice of Ed's earthly life.
Dave & I enjoyed Ed & Kevin's visit to Yellowknife a few years ago and were hoping to see him here again. Now we will wait until we are together in Glory. Lois, Rachel & Kevin you are in our prayers. Trudy, Judy, Alfred, Rita & Wanda and families - you are also in our prayers. God be with you and keep His loving arms wrapped around all of you. Hilda & Dave Weaver

I live in the building where the incident occurred. Ed was just in my unit last 22 of this month. I was the first unit that he serviced in this building. Although I don't know Ed personally, I was so thankful for his patience in dealing with my 3 year old. I knew then that he was a God fearing man by the way he spoke to me and my daughter. My condolences and prayers to the family he has left behind. My heart goes out to all of you....

Although you would not know me, Ed was so well known in this community for his acts of kindness and community involvement I knew of him. I'm so glad that we do not mourn as those without hope. In a seemingly hopeless situation we have a God who's determination is to take that which the enemy meant for evil and turn it to good. My prayer is that as the name of Jesus is lifted up in this tragedy and in the remeberance of Ed's life that many will be drawn into the kingdom of God as a result. My thoughts and prayers are with Ed's family and his church community at this very sad and difficult time and beyond. In Christian Love..
