Eddie Jasper Fountain

Eddie Jasper Fountain FLORENCE, SC - Eddie Jasper Fountain, 89, of Florence, died Monday, January 03, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Fountain was born in the Hannah Community of South Carolina a son of the late Lee Coy Fountain and Hatha Powell Fountain. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps having served during World War II. He was a charter member of First Assembly of God, where he was formerly the Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Board of Deacons, and was active in the church's jail ministry. He was the owner and operator of Eddie's Boat and Motor Service for 35 years and had been an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janie Louise Bailey Fountain; son, Eddie Marion Fountain; daughter, Laura Lou Cinda Fountain; bro-thers, John D. Fountain and Jessie Lee Fountain; sisters, Gladyeth Irene Fountain Timmons Powlesland, Mabel Louise Fountain and Myrtle Kathleen Fountain Chace. Surviving are his children, Jessica Jackson and her husband, Jacky Jackson, of Wilmington, NC and James Michael Fountain of Florence; sister, Ilena Melvenia Fountain Rogers of Florence; grandchildren, Shannon Jackson, Holly Jackson and Amanda Jackson, all of Wilmington; great-grandchild, Kayla Jackson of Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
