Eddie Lee "Mississippi" Hunter, born on December 4, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on May 15, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 56. Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He had a passion for sports and took great joy in watching his children succeed in their endeavors. Known for his infectious laughter and radiant smile, Eddie brought immense love and happiness into the lives of those around him.

Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, Eddie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his humor, kindness, and the love he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on the hearts of many.

Eddie is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Jolean Hunter; his children Dontavius Ensley, Kyanna Hunter, Ebonye Hunter and Quinton Hunter; his grandsons Aureliano and Kamari; his loving mother, UZ Hunter; six brothers, George (Brenda) Hunter Jr, Larry (Brigette) Hunter, Jerry (Jacqueline) Hunter, Anthony Hunter, Toni (Mitzi) Hunter, and John Harris; four sisters, Bobbie (Jeffrey) Hilliard, Sherry Hunter, Melody Hunter, and Mary (James) Johnson-Waldington; his father and mother-in-law, Patrick and Pamela Ensley; brother-in-law Patrick (Laura) Ensley; and sister-in-law Candida Ensley.

Eddie was preceded in death by his loving father, George Hunter Sr.; his grandmothers, Julie Hunter and LV Hoskins; his sisters, Georgia Mae Hunter, Linda Faye Hunter, and Kineshia Hunter-Jiles; his brother LaMarcus Hunter; his uncles, Nora Hunter Sr. and Mack Gray; his aunties, Ethel D. Adam's and Alice Gray; and his nephew, Larry Hunter Jr.

A ceremony to honor and celebrate Eddie's life will be held at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 4714 13 Mile Rd, Rockford MI on June 14th, 2024 at 5pm.
