Edgar Skidmore Obituary
February 14, 1938 - February 12, 2018
Edgar A. Skidmore Sr., 79 years old, passed away the 12th of February 2018. He was born in Jefferson, Ohio to Boyd H. Skidmore and Ida M. Wells. He resided in Apple Valley, California for 34 years. Ed was a lifetime member of the VVGMC where he enjoyed rock hunting and teaching the children about gems and minerals. He served in the Navy from 1955-58 then the Army until 1968. Ed served 2 terms in Vietnam during Tet Offensive with the 716th M.P. During this time he received the Bronze Star for heroism. Ed also worked as a heavy equipment operator for 25 years with IUOE Local 12. He was preceded in death by his brothers Earl and Boyd Skidmore, his daughter Jamy Michener, and both of his parents. Survived by Sandra, his wife of 40 years, his son Ed Jr. (Scooter) of Apple Valley, his brother Wilbert (Dolores) of Standish, Michigan, His sons Randy Michener of Big Bear and Ken Deitrich (Betsy) of Las Vegas, as well as his grandchildren Christopher Harris, Bryndon Michener, Danae, Jonah, and Micah Deitrich, Andrea McCall-Skidmore, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorial Services will be held the 24th of February at 10:00 am at Sunset Hills, on the patio, with reception to follow.
