Dear Edith,
What a great loss for everyone now that you are no longer here...
Such a strong, positive woman with a sense of humor, right up to the end. What a beautiful friendship we had for almost 60 years!
In the photos in your beloved Rotterdam, together with us. And the photo of us (four friends) in Spain.
You'll be in our hearts forever!
Love, Nel, Etienne, Elina, Gino and Romano

Our family got really lucky when Edith came into the family. I personally was in awe of her, especially her fashion sense, and her strength and courage to make this journey. She left her home and family to come to live in Texas (culture shock!) and made a great life with my cousin Kennith. My heart goes out to Kennith and family for the loss of a great wife, mother, and human being.

Edith Harris was a woman to be respected. She was intelligent, beautiful, fun, loving, determined, and sophisticated. When my family first met Edith, there were some serious communication issues. She was multilingual, and we spoke only one language - Texan (with a slow, southern drawl). She never really lost her accent, and we didn´t, either.

If you wanted to see Edith´s lovely smile, you would simply ask about her kids and grandkids. She was so proud of you! She loved you fiercely! Speaking of love... The possibility of a young country boy from Texas to meet and marry a sophisticated woman from Holland seems statistically unlikely, if not impossible. Well, Kenneth fell hard. Like I said, Edith was impressive! They only needed one marriage, and it was easy to see that they were serious about their vows.

Most people would agree that it is awful to lose the love of your life, so I will be praying for Ken and for the rest of the Harris family. They have suffered a great loss. We have, too.
