Nick, Debbie, and Dave,
We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. We have such fond memories her.
Doug remembers spending the night as a kid and having her fix hamburger and scrambled eggs for breakfast.
We both remember going to your house for New Year's Eve and your Mom insisting we eat black-eyed peas so we would have a year of good luck. I especially remember that evening, being the new one in the group, how welcome your Mom made me feel.
We also used to look forward to her Thanksgiving card each year. It was always hand-written and filled with positive words. This was always the start of the holiday season for us, when her card appeared.
She was a gracious lady who will be remembered by many.

My sympathy to the entire family on Edie's passing.
Many years ago when I was only 4, I answered the phone when she called my mother. Of course, I asked who was calling, and she said, "Tell your mother it's Mrs. Roosevelt". Henceforth, I always called Edie by that name, even when greeting her in person or writing a note.
She was such a gracious hostess and insisted my son and I visit her at the Bush ranch in Dunsmuir; a place she loved.
I will always remember her joie de vivre!

Nikki:
My thoughts are with you and your family as you adjust to this world without your grandmother. It never gets easy, rather we just get used to it.
I think about you often and hope to hear from you in the future.
Love to your family,
Patricia Rodriguez
