Beautiful lady well kept looked younger than her age. Intelligent and helpful for my medical needs. She will be missed. My condolences to the family I just found out about her passing. Very touching how she was holding husband hand as she passed. Peaceful closure.

I met Edie soon after we started medical school together in 1975 and was lucky to become one of her friends. I remember Edie just as Theresa Vogel Crouch and John Steenbergen describe her below. I will add that Edie had a gentle sense of humor but was firm in calling out injustice to women and others, so I learned to behave better and be more empathetic of others because of her. Edie was also very honest, which was sometimes shocking but never mean. Edie was as loyal to her family and her friends as her principles, and those who knew her are better persons for it. Edie and Dan are each impressive as individuals, but they complemented each other so perfectly that it was wonderful when they found each other. Edie is and will be much missed.

Edith was a trailblazer in her time for women in medicine. I enjoyed her company at several of the medical school reunions at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was great at uniting people, and there is a photo in our Scope yearbook of 1979 where she got together a group of classmates for an ice skating party! May she rest in peace.

Just want to relay my sincere condolences to Edie's husband and family. I was a classmate of Edie's at medical school, and was just informed that she had passed away. I remember her well from medical school and 2 reunions I attended. She was a very mature, calm, courteous, friendly, intelligent lady who seemed to handle the stress of medical school very well (and better than I did). I very much enjoyed talking to her and her husband at our medical school reunions in 2004 and 2009. I always had great respect for her, and I will miss her.

Edie, I miss you and cherish the memories of how we became friends as roommates during medical school, and later when you were godmother to my daughter, our skiing adventure in Utah, our celebration of your 70th birthday, and so much more.
