Mom is at peace now, indendent to the end, always a bit stubborn. She had a long life and would never accept the fact that she would have to go into a nursing home. Fortunately that never happened. She stated right up to the end that she didn't want to go into a home & I'm glad we didn't have to force her . There is another void in all our lives & I still find myself thinking at night that I've got to call Mom, it'll take awhile to get used to that & Delmar & I will miss out weekly lunches with her.

I go away back to the days when your Dad(Jim) was the local plumber in Semans. He did some plumbing for my family in Govan. My dad was a farmer and my mom was a hairdresser. The families would go back and forth and I remember going to the lake boating. Your Mom was kind, lovable and full of fun. She always had the coffee on. It is hard to lose a parent and even harder when it is the last one. My sympathies go out to you all.

Eith ... you said you wanted to go home but you didn't say which home, I think it was the thought of the hospital food. But, now you are rest.
