I was sorry to hear this very sad news. I loved the music of Eddie Skinger! He will be missed greatly by all but never forgotten! May Eddie Always Rest In Peace, AMEN!

My condolences to the entire Skinger family. I attend Norwich Tech for hairdressing, graduating in 1973. Although I was never part of Mr. Skinger's class, I remember him as being well liked and respected by many students. He always smiled and said "Hello" when we passed through the halls.

For 44 years Eddie was the most wonderful neighbor anyone could ask for. He was always kind generous and always willing to help you out. just a great guy. We will miss you Eddie.

Eddie was a person I called a "true friend". He was a person that always put a smile on your face. I will miss him with all my heart. I send my Condolences to Sophie and his entire family. May he RIP in Polka Heaven with his "MANY" friends.

When our mother passed at such a young age, Eddie was always there to help me in anyway that he could. I will forever be grateful to him for that. I was just a dumb kid back in 1979 at Norwich Tech ,i was getting ready to fail my blueprint reading class . If Mr Skinger didnt step in and help me out i would not be be where i am today!
he literally is reponsible for changing the course that my life has taken ! Sometimes you don't realize till later on in life how things affect you.

Uncle Eddie, I married your nephew 33 years ago and have been part of the "Skinger" family ever since. Family gatherings won't be quite the same anymore without your jokes, wit and many stories! I thank God you were part of my life and I will truly miss you. My condolences to Aunt Sophie, Paul, Patty, Ben, Marie and Danelle. I love you all!

So sorry for your loss. I had Mr. Skinger as a teacher at Norwich Tech. He was my blueprint reading teacher but always found time to sit and talk to me. I will always remember him because he was there for me when I lost my Dad. He was a truly good person.

My late father, Stan Ozimek, was very familiar with Eddie during his musical career with the bands of Ray Henry & Walt Jaworski. I have played many of his recordings on my Polka Jammer Network program. May he rest in peace.

Eddie has been an inspiration to me for as long as I can remember. I looked up to him as a teenager and later in my life was so fortunate that he and I became a close friends. He appeared on all my band's cds recordings as guest vocalist. He was a musicians musician and was a perfectionist at lyrics. In 2001 he was inducted into the IPA Polka Hall Of Fame I was in attendance and it was a day to celebrate. My life is better for knowing Eddie and now there is a huge void. Let's remember him and his music forever. He truly was "The Platinum Voice" of Polka music. Eddie we will never forget you.

I've only known Eddie for a few years but the times he performed with Bud's Band(Bud Hundenski & the Corsairs)were always very special to all of us. We will miss his personality and professionalism. RIP Eddie

I had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife Sophie when I came out to CT for the Pillar Polkabration about 9 years ago. He was such a warm and kindhearted person. That giant polka band up in the sky has gained another stellar talent.
