Edna Grant Devlin

Edna Grant Devlin BRADLEY -- Mrs. Edna Grant Devlin, widow of Alphonso Devlin, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center, Greenwood, SC. She was born in McCormick, SC, December 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Charlie M. and Mary Wells Grant. She was a graduate of Mims High School and attended Paine College and Piedmont Technical College. She attended Beauty school and was affectionately known in the community as the hair dresser. Edna was a member of Mt. Sinai AME Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She retired from the McCormick County school district, where she served as a teacher assistant in the Middle School. She leaves to cherish fond memories a devoted son, Alphonso Devlin, Jr. (Marshelle) of Bradley, SC; a daughter, Mary Devlin Williams of the home; four grandchildren, Angel Williams, Erica Williams, Sheena Devlin Dulaney (Walter) and Airen Devlin; one great-grandchild, Danny Williams; surviving siblings, Leola Walker (Hervey), McCormick, SC, Wilena Williams, Augusta, GA; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Abraham, Sr., Presiding Elder George T. Devlin, Jr. (Ruth); sister-in-law, Lillie Devlin; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives who will miss hear dearly. Funeral services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai AME Church, with the pastor, Rev. Franklin Pruitt, Jr., officiating. Interment is in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home Wednesday evening from six until seven p.m. The family is at her home, 423 Cedar Grove Road, Bradley, SC. Services entrusted to Walker Funeral Home of McCormick.
