He was a great man. Wise and always on the search to uncover truth and the past. He was a brilliant scholar and a wonderful person and he will be greatly missed! My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. The world is a better place for him having been in it.
He has left us a timeless legacy
of his research and efforts that will continue to echo long after his departure from this world.
May God Bless his loved ones and all who knew him in this time of sorrow. Farewell Edo, you will be missed, but never ever forgotten. To all, Peace.

I'd like to write in "first person" as a tribute to this wonderful gentleman.
Mr. Edo.... in my beginning search for ancestral ties nine years ago, you gave me the world in a silver platter. You opened doors for me that I had no idea was there. For such a great professor and scholar, you took the time to help a small peon, such as myself, learn a great deal of the truer side of European History and it's effect on modern civilization. I will always carry the knowledge you shared with me and apply it to good use.
Thank you Mr. Edo, for all your help and encouragement. I will cherish your books forever. Your life is a legacy and great accomplishment to all mankind.

Sarah - Kerry, Corey, Dennis and I we were so shocked to learn of Edo's death recently from the newspaper. Our connection with him, and you, is one that holds so many happy, fun filled memories of our "political shenanigans". Edo was a terrific allie to me personally over my years of involvement at the national level and I never, ever, tired of hearing his intelligent "take" on many of the issues we worked on. We were very proud to support him when he made his successful nomination bid in Edmonton Strathcona. That night, as we celebrated his victory, the northern lights were just unbelievable and we all shared the beautiful experience in the parking lot of the Faculty Club. I will never look up at them again that I won't think of Edo. We are so sorry he suffered. Please catch the warmest positive energy we are sending your way to help you through dark and back into the light. Bev Mahood and family.

It is with sadness that Carole and I read of the death of Edo. A valued colleague and neighbour.
