Lalo was a true New Mexican and proud son of Ranchos de Taos. His legacy will always be a part of this region. We spent many afternoons sipping Don Eduardo Tequila and discussing the rich history of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. He had the spirit of the pioneers who built this land, Lalo's machismo was evident not only in his strength but also in his gentle devotion to family and community. His heart always beat for the mountains, the horses he cared for and the thrill of hunting. Lalo gave us the gift of a deeper understanding of ourselves through his stories. We connected to our shared ancestry, tracing our roots back to those who blazed trails across this rugged land. Lalo's wisdom and love enriched all of our lives. He leaves us with his indelible mark. Although we shared a given name, I am most proud of the family history and ancestors that I shared with this man. Thank you Lalo and I will miss you. And yes--I will get a hair cut. Ricardo.
