Edward Jefferson Alvarez

ALVAREZ, Edward J. Edward Jefferson Alvarez age 74 of Snellville, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Emil Alvarez; and best friend, "Lucky" dog. He is survived by his children whom he was a loving father to, son, Jeff Alvarez, Sr; daughter, Alisha Alvarez and fiancé Terry Sanders; son, Michael Alvarez; his "pride and joy" grandson, Jeffrey Alvarez, Jr; dog, Larry; best friend and caregiver, Lianne Alvarez and Wardell MacFarland; as well as many additional family members, work friends, and church friends. He was born August 28, 1941. Ed graduated Sylvan Hills High School, then went into the Air Force as a reservist and attended GA Tech before being called up full-time in the Air Force. He then worked for Lincoln which became Pentair for around 40 years. The Service to Celebrate the Life of Edward Jefferson Alvarez will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mtn. Park United Methodist Church, Stone Mountain, Ga. Where Rev. Charles Robinson and Rev. Charles Barnes will officiate the service. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery, College Park, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages, Snellville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Memory of Edward Alvarez be made to Mountain Park United Methodist Church, Stone Mountain, GA, Stewart Avenue United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA or Bethany United Methodist Church, Fairburn, GA.
