Edward Harold Ashcraft, Jr., 77, of Leland, NC died suddenly of cardiac arrest at his home on April 5th, 2023. Eddie was the only child of Harold and Dorothy Ashcraft of Louisville, KY. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Mitchell Ashcraft. Eddie and Margaret have three boys, Mark Ashcraft (Michelle) of Mansfield, Georgia, Mike Ashcraft (Julie) of Wilmington, NC, and Brian Ashcraft (Erica) of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Eddie and Margaret have six grandchildren, Madison Ashcraft Goslee (Carson) , Kaitlyn Ashcraft, Michaela Ashcraft, Emily Ashcraft, Alexandra Ashcraft, and Luke Ashcraft and one great-granddaughter, Lennon Parker Goslee.
Eddie was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and spent many years serving the Lord in different churches and a variety of pastoral roles after graduating from Bible Baptist Institute. In his later years, he and Margaret retired and moved from Riverdale, Georgia to the coast of NC as they enjoyed retired life. Eddie could often be found in his garage working on a variety of woodworking projects, riding his bike around his neighborhood, or delivering homemade cards and goodies to others. His life was marked by his service to others.
A service in his honor will be held at Port City Community Church, 250 Vision Dr. in Wilmington, NC 28403 on Monday, April 10th at 2 PM. All are welcome to join as we gather to honor him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Port City Community Church, Pine Valley Baptist Church, or New Hanover Rehab Center facility.

Our friendship with Margaret and Eddie has been cherished and special. The precious memories we shared of bowling, playing cards, enjoying meals together, walking on the beach....will forever be with us. We love you. I did not know Mr Ashcroft but I did go to elementary school with Brian. I saw this obituary posted on a friends page and Instantly thought to check it, with that last name. I am so sorry to hear of the families loss. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Mark and Ashcraft Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. In times like these I look to the joy that comes to those who we have lost. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 says “ I have fought the good fight , I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness , which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” Jeanna and I will keep you in our prayers .

Mr. Harold was a good and Godly man who walked his faith. So sorry for Margaret and the family. Will lift you up in prayer. Only knew him at Heatherwood Church, but so enjoyed their music and Margaret's Sunday School lessons. Your family was blessed with the gift of a good Godly man.
