Ed Ashe was--is (he'll always live in my heart)--one of the finest men I have ever met. There are not many people I have known for more than 30 years and never had a serious disagreement with; Ed was such a person--I miss him...

Working in the friendship heights neighborhood gave me the opportunity to meet Mr. Ashe, a true gentleman and American veteran. It was an honor listening to his stories and having long conversations about the military, politics, sports, hunting and so on. You were a good friend and a great man. God speed my friend.
