Ed was the basketball coach during my 4 years at SC. disappointing I didn't make the freshman team,I should have, but really enjoyed watching his teams play. And having a BB skills class with him was a treat. Deepest sympathy to family.

Ed was my colleague at Springfield College for over 40 years. He was a kind person who shared his knowledge of basketball ball with anyone including my daughter. Ed invited Laurel to meet at the SC court, set up a video and then coached her shooting style while filming. Thanks to this, Laurel became the first female at East Longmeadow High School to score 1000 points. She was recruited by U Mass and is in a Hall of Fame for those accomplishments. Ed had this kind of joy and love for fine tuning athletic performance. I always admired his selflessness. Charles B. Redington,Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Biology. Springfield College Distinguished Professor of Humanics, 2012-13

I´m so sorry to learn of Dr. Bilik´s passing. He helped with our basketball teams growing up and was the reason I attended and graduated from Springfield College, even with my grandfather having been an award winning coach at rival AIC. I very much enjoyed the occasion I had to play golf with him, in a tournament at Veterans´s Golf Course. Dr. Bilik was also instrumental in my brother attending SC. Although I had not seen him in 25 years or more, I think of him often and appreciate his care and efforts, the hand he took, in so many lives. He will be greatly missed.

Ann and I were so saddened to hear this news. We were so fortunate to have Ed as our neighbor in NC, and to have been regaled with stories of the love and pride he had for his family. We learned late in Ed´s life what so many already knew, that he just had a way with people that made him extraordinary. We send our love and hopes for peace to Gerry and family.
