Dear Myrna & Shane,
I was so sorry to hear about your dad & grandpa, I know you will miss him so much, he gave you such wonderful memories to keep in your hearts. They will help keep him near in your hearts. I know how hard it is to lose them, especially when they are so active & full of sprited bantering. That must be were Shane get's his from. I'm sure he is enjoying the reunion with his other loved ones now. God bless you & keep you. My prayers are with you & your families at this time.

Edward Lou as he was known to me was one of the best neighbors and friends I and my family have ever had. When we moved in next door to Ed and Elly we immediately fell in love with them both. The first weekend we were there was 4th of July and my son and husband were in the alley behind our home lighting fireworks when all of a sudden a darling spiffy little lady and her husband showed up. The guys thought uh oh we are in big trouble and she is going to chew us out, but they did not know yet what a little spitfire she was yet as her comment turned out to be only " if you put them in a can they will be a lot louder"!
Ed and Elly always had a sparkle of humor and fun in their eyes. Around noon everyday you would see them sit down with a drink and snacks to play cards at their dining room window. It was wonderful to see them enjoying each other's company and to hear their many wonderful stories and adventures they had together. They truly were the perfect couple. They always watched out for us and we lovingly called them E & E Security. We eventually moved, but stayed in touch. Ed and I always laughed a bunch as his sense of humor and wit were beyond compare. Only weeks ago, we took our second trip on the route he used to snow shoe in from Garden Valley to Placerville. He loved to remember the stories of how when he was employed by the phone company repairing lines he would work the whole way up and stay overnight at the store in Placerville and then snowshoe his way back out to Garden Valley the next day. It always amazed me that he did this to Silver City as well. He said he loved it as it was really peaceful and he would make hot chocolate out of Hershey Bars and hot water along the way. He was a one of a kind gentleman and we will miss his love and wonderful humor that he so freely gave.
Elly I am sure is beating him at cards right now and he is loving every minute of it. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU EDDIE!!

Dearest Peggy,
My heart aches for you as you endure this loss. You have lost so much is the past 18 months. I am not sure why you have been dealt so much pain in the recent past but hope your future will be peaceful and bright. I know how much you loved and cherished Grandpa Eddy !!! You were a wonderful and special daughter to him.
Hugs and Love to you,
The Cooper Family

The neighborhood won't be quite the same without Ed. I'll miss him supervising our projects and "borrowing" the eggplants and tomatoes from the garden. We'll miss him very much. He was a wonderful neighbr and friend.
