Edward Bradley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 25 to Mar. 27, 2009.
Bro. Edward Bradley was called home on March 22, 2009 after a 3 year-long battle with cancer. He was born on May 15, 1937 to Arthur and Martha Meece Bradley in the White Lily community of Pulaski County, Ky. He was a union carpenter, farmer, and minister of the Gospel. He loved all of his professions but especially his calling as a minister. He surrendered to the call in June 1962. He pastored 10 different churches in his 47 years of ministry, went on several mission trips, held many revivals, sang in a few Gospel groups and counted it as his highest honor and privilege to serve the Lord.Bro. Bradley is survived by his wife of 51 years, Emaline Ridener Bradley. They were married on Aug. 31, 1957 and truly they were "one in the Lord". She was his "helpmeet" in every way. To this union were born five daughters who also survive, Donna (and Tim) Woodcock, Sheila (and Todd) Meece, Vicky (and Wendell) Jones, Joy (and Stan) Childers, and Grace (and Ray) Dillon. He was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Brad, Rachel, and Daniel Woodcock, Whitney (and Shaun) Fletcher, Jake Meece, Kylie (and Rolando) Flores, Nick Meece, Haley, Delaney, and Sydney Childers, Tre and Tyler Dillon. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Lucy Fletcher, who was the greatest comfort of his last days.Bro. Bradley was born and married into a large family with many surviving members: Almond (and Anna) Bradley; Thelma (and William) Colyer, Wilma (and Jack) Ridener, Betty (and Earl) Loveless, and Audrey (and Carl) Phelps. Also, Lucille Childers, Wanda Lee Ridener, Jay (and Ginny) Ridener, Harold Mounce, Jack (and Wilma) Ridener, Rose Phelps, and Rick (and Linda) Ridener. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud and to whom "Uncle Ed" will be remembered with great affection.Waiting to welcome him home were his parents; infant sister, Rosemary; sister, Mildred (and husband, John) Cook, twin sister, Edna (and husband, Omer) Woodall; and in-laws, "Genius" and Okel Ridener, Wilbert Childers, Vonis Ridener, Wanda Mounce, and Vearl Phelps. Also, two nephews, Gary Cook and Ronald Ridener. He will be missed by a host of friends, neighbors, and church people from all over. His greatest desire was that you all be ready to meet him again someday.Visitation for Bro. Bradley will be Tuesday, March 24 after 5 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Hail, Bro. Dalous Sears, and Bro. Ernest Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery. The family has requested that all monetary donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Markey Cancer Center.
