Edward Brennan, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward J. Brennan, Jr. (aka EB) who left us on July 15, 2024. He was a cherished brother and dedicated his life to his family and businesses.

Born on February 21, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. Edward grew up with a passion for cars from a young age. He is survived by his siblings, James Brennan (and his wife, Rutti), Anne Marie Pracht (and her son and daughter), and Maureen Sammartano (along with her husband and their children). He was preceded in death by his Mother, Anna Brennan & Father, Edward J. Brennan, Sr.

While still in high school Edward had a passion for cars and began working part-time at an Auto Paint Store in North Merrick, NY. He then moved forward starting his own business, E.B. Auto Body Supply, out of his van and a few years later opened his first store-front operation in Huntington, NY where he worked daily with his partner & brother, James Brennan selling DuPont Paint, spray booths, equipment, air compressors, Kansas Jack Frame Equipment, BASF and other auto body supplies. He served his community with dedication and provided quality products and exceptional service to Auto Body Shops throughout NY. His store became a cornerstone in the Huntington, NY community. After many years of hard work along with his brother, James Brennan (JR), they decided to move the business to Tampa, FL under the business name, E.B. Auto Body Supply & Tool. Edward will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. His legacy to the Auto Supply Industry will continue to inspire those who carry on his memory.

Edward was also a devoted husband and father to two adult children. He had health-related needs over the last 7 years and tried to recuperate in hospitals and healthcare facilities. Edward was always of sound mind and worked hard in the rehab facilities to get back his strength. Edward had the desire to survive and overcame his original heart operation and did amazing.

During the time in rehabilitation centers and senior living facilities over the last 7 years, his brother, James (and wife, Rutti), and sister, Anne Marie, spent many hours every day traveling to various facilities near and far to ensure he was doing okay and to brighten his days, nights, celebrate his birthday each year with him, as well as holidays. His brother and sister would take him out for ice cream, pizza, hamburgers, wings, steak dinners, shopping and to the barbershop for haircuts.

Due to his hard work and sacrifices over the past 45+ years, Edward acquired various real estate investments, savings, monthly rental income from the buildings he purchased in Florida and Georgia, and his classic cars collection.

A celebration of Edward J. Brennan, Jr's life was held in private with his three siblings and their immediate families. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association in his honor.

I am sad to hear of the loss of Edward, my cousin. I have fond memories of our families getting together years ago. My condolences to his sisters and brother Maureen, Anne Marie and James and to all his friend friends and loved ones.

Losing a sibling is one of the most profound losses in life because they share your parent´s memories. They grew up with you and you grew up with them. They share all of those early memories, family stories and everything.

I think of Edward with his parents and remember their kindnesses and humor. I pray he is with other friends and family- his aunt and uncle, my mother and my aunt, uncle and many more. Rest easy and in peace Edward. `To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die´.
