Staci and I were sad to hear of Dr. Brethauer's passing.
I worked along side Dr. "B" for almost a decade at Bettis. His energy, enthusiasm and compassion for his patients, his friends and peers were boundless.
I always appreciated his honesty and sense of humor. In difficult situations, he would focus on the upbeat, positive side.
He inspired those who would listen, with wisdom, courage and resolve to succeed. He would often lovingly relate his latest family adventure story involving his children and grandchildren.
I will remember him as a devoted family man, a generous friend and reliable mentor. He was a true gentleman.
Staci and I share with his family in the loss of this very special person. We will always remember the loving kindness that he brought into our lives.
We will miss him.

I am one of many Alcoa retirees who I know are saddened to hear of Dr. B's passing. This wonderful man did so much for us. His smiling countenance and reassuring manner burn bright in my memory and we hold his family in our prayers.

Dear Family and Friends, Dr. Brethauer was a wonderful, gentle, physician. He was also a very sentitive and special person. I am an Alcoa retiree and was under Dr. Brethauer's care many years ago. He was a unique gift because he cared about his patients.

Not only I, but thousands and thousands of others will feel the void resulting from the passing of Dr Brethauer.
In the short time I have known your family, I was impressed with your obvious devotion and dedication to this dynamic person. You were blessed to have him as your father. My prayers are that you will feel peace knowing he is in good hands.
