Today, I will be surrounded by family. From this point on, one member will be forever missed. Uncle Eddy was one of a kind. Those of you who knew him would have to agree, there's no one quite like him.
I realize how fortunate I was to have my Grandmother as my next door neighbour and my Uncle around the corner. Growing up, I saw him daily and until recently, while talking with Tracy in hospice, didn't realize this unique circumstance and the relationship we had because of it. I can look back now and appreciate how lucky I was.
He called'em as he saw'em, told it like it was, you knew what he was thinking because he told you; often speaking without a verbal filter; he may have offended some with his bluntness, but he always spoke with truth.
I admire the way he faced his many health issues and maintained his sence of humour til the end. He continued to make others laugh even as he was dying.
I thank him for making me stilts, building me a fort, for teaching me how to water ski, for leaving fishing hooks laying around - that I sit on and get hooked in my butt, for showing me that shag carpet can be used as wallpaper, for being a very creative guy and making things out of other peoples garbage, for his appreciation of the simple things in life. Good bye Uncle Eddy. -Chrissy

I will always remember how he would forget people's name 30 seconds after meeting them. He was the type of guy that would always want to lend a hand (or be the keen observer and offer his thoughts) I can't tell you how many times I said I needed something just in general talk, and by the next Thursday, I would find whatever I was talking about in my driveway. He loved garbage day! :) I will miss the "mayor"!!

I will always remember him coming over to my mom and dad's house to visit almost everyday. He liked to talk a lot and just be social. He made me laugh. I know a lot of people will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Dad loved the outdoors, walking, hiking, swimming, camping, boating, huge bon fires. He loved dogs, flowers, candles, Western movies and dancing with mom. I take after my dad in many ways. I will forever miss our walks together. Love always, Tracy
