I remember Ed when he was Pastor at Denbigh Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. He was a wonderful person and the best teacher that I've ever listened to. He officiated my wedding in October of 1968. I've just learned of his passing and am saddened by this news.

Faye,
It wasn't long ago that Ed preached at my mom's funeral. He was such an encouragement and example to me and my family. My parents both loved his Sunday School teaching. Imagine the reunion they had in heaven!

Dear Faye –
I just learned of Pastor Ed's passing. You and Pastor Ed are two of the most special people to have ever come into my family's life. What a kind, loving and gentle man he was… I feel pretty qualified to make that statement as I saw these characteristics firsthand during the years that I worked with him at Salem Baptist. He always told me that I did not work “for” him; I worked “with” him. I will always be grateful for those years. And I will always think of the two of you when I look at my beautiful tanzanite from your trip to Nairobi. (What a special 20th anniversary gift that was.) God Bless You, Faye. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could have been there today to share with you, the celebration of the life of dear Pastor Ed.

Dear Faye,
I want you to know that I will always love and cherish my memories of Pastor Ed. He was the one who lead me to Jesus in my den in Goochland, Va. I always felt that you and he were such a lovely Christian example of patience, love and marriage. My children, Erica and Amber, remember both of you with foundness as do I.
I know that you will miss him so and pray Gods comfort will surrond you like a nice warm blanket. I am thankful and excited that Pastor Ed is now in Heaven without pain and suffering and able to be with the LORD.
We love you here in Goochland County Virginia,

Faye and family, sorry to hear about Ed's passing. It came as quite a shock. Spoke to Ed only a few weeks ago, about your plans on relocating to Friends Home. The Good Lord must have something special in mind for him to do. You and your family are in our prayers.
