Edward Coleman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 18, 2025.
"Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth." Proverbs 3:5-6

Edward Herbert Wilson Coleman (89) passed away peacefully at home in Norfolk VA surrounded by family and friends on August 13, 2025. "Ed" was born April 9,1936 in Stevens Point, WI, where he spent his early childhood before he moved with his family to Norfolk VA where he enlisted and served in the Navy. After his service, he followed his father into the insurance business. After several years, his wandering spirit called him to the Tennessee Mountains where he began a career driving a truck, giving him the freedom to explore the country. His favorite thing to do was camp with his wife Theresa and visit with family.

Ed spent his life in service to others, for over 47 years sharing his experience, strength and hope. He was always prepared to spend quality time listening and greeted everyone with a welcoming smile. To know him meant you were a friend.

Ed was predeceased by his parents Horace and Jeannette Coleman; siblings Jimmy, Spencer, Joanne and Sonny; and his daughter Josey Kalkowski.

His loving spirit endures with his wife, Theresa Coleman, his daughters Cyndi Tyre, Ellen Johnson (spouse David), Laura Harris (spouse Jeff), Cindy Coleman (partner Shane) & Carrie Hurt (spouse Jim), his son-in-law Kyle Kalkowski, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life details will be shared when finalized by the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association to support the research of Alzheimer's Disease.
