As I have only learned of Ed's passing today, I wanted to share my sorrow with his family on this first anniversary. Ed has been a unique resource to my work on electric lamp history. His passion and the treasure trove of information on the subject will be sorely missed.
A photo of him with part of his historic lamp collection from February 1962 is appended. (Photo by GE Lighting Business Group, Nela Park, E. Cleveland, OH)

Dear Mrs. C, Nancy, David and family -
I was so very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Covington. A flood of memories comes forward from childhood - practicing softball in the yard with Nancy, the dog growling when Mr. Convington would say - "back hall," the science fair snow flake project in grade school that Nancy did with his help. You were truly a second family to me, and Mr. Covington was a stand up dad. He will be missed.
