Edward DINGWALL

I went to Abingdon School with Edward, and considered him a friend, as did many. I only just learned of his passing, via the Abingdon School newsletter, and wanted to say how sorry I am. Edward was the kindest person, and had only good things to say about everyone. Always smiling, and never a word of complaint. The way he lived his life is an inspiration to us all. My deepest sympathies go out to his loved ones.

Mr Dingwall taught our son history at Berkhamsted as well as being his tutor and hockey coach. He was the perfect role model. He understood how to get the most out of his pupils. His pastoral care was first class. He has left many wonderful indelible memories with those who knew him. Rest in peace.

As a parent of boys at Berkhamsted School I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr Dingwall as one of my son's History Teacher and anothers House Tutor. He was exceptional. Not only was he a fantastic History teacher "he made History fun", but he showed by example how to be a decent "chap". I was told that the Head Master of the Boys School and Sixth Form both had tears in their eyes when telling the boys of Mr Dingwalls sad death - I think that sums up the measure of the high regard the school had for this man. Just reading the comments on "Ed Dingwall Support Group " on Facebook shows that Mr Dingwall may be gone, but he won't be forgotten.

I remember being Edward's history teacher at Woburn Hill. He was always so keen and conscientious. After all these years it was so sad to hear that he had passed away so dreadfully sunddenly but, it was uplifting to know that he had 'signed up' to the noble profession of teaching. I taught Edward art and technology when he was a little boy at Woburn Hill. He was a dear little chap and I am so saddened to hear this dreaful news. I would like to send my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
