Dear cousin
I will truly miss those great stories you would tell at your house in Madera for the holidays. You always made them so special for all of us. I believe you are now in heaven. You left us sooner than I would have imagined. I am still in shock and often think of you whenever I pass a schoolyard or see children. You were definitely one of a kind and i will forever cherish all the memories we shared. Thank you.
Love Bekah

St. Paul reminds us that, "there are three things that last: faith, hope and love...and the greatest of these, is love." Let me tell you a story about a loving friend, and writing tutor as I remember my dear brother, Chuck Eha, in holy memory. I'm forever grateful for him tutoring me in writing college papers in the spring of 1993 at Fresno State, after having squeaked my way in from the rough and tumble barrio schools of southeast Fresno: Lane Elementary; Kings Canyon Middle School; Sequoia Freshmen High; Roosevelt High. He gave me the keys to writing which served me well to earn good grades on my papers at Fresno State, Fresno City College, and eventually graduate from UC Berkeley with honors in English, then on to a master's in theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and a master's in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy. He's one of those special souls that the divine placed on my path. Now I teach my high school students how to write like Chuck taught me, to help them succeed in high school and college. Aesop's Fables reminds us that "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." Thank you, Chuck, for opening your heart and mind and teaching me to write, encouraging me along the way. I'm forever grateful to you, brother. May you rest in eternal peace, love and joy. Gracias, Chuck. Thank you!!! ❤

Dear Meg, Clayton, Eha and Bryant families:
Chuck provides positive memories from our days at Roosevelt High School. Most noteworthy are a pink 56 Cadillac, poker games around the kitchen table with grandpa Clayton and his love of the film "Easy Rider" and singer Johnny Cash. More significant was his passion for social issues such as the treatment of Native Americans and the war in Vietnam. I haven't seen Chuck in 20 years, but I will miss him. RIP my friend.

Dear Meg and Clayton,
I was absolutely heartbroken to hear of Chuck's passing. What a kind, gifted and all around wonderful man. When my mother was going through chemo, he'd call her to chat. I can't tell you how much that meant to her.
Even though Chuck and I kind of lost contact over the years, it was nice to know that he was in the world. He will be deeply missed.
Much love,
Michelle Chun LeRoy

I met Chuck in graduate school so many years ago, and he stood among all of us as one of the most brilliant students, artistic, a great writer, and someone I never forgot. The world is missing an incredible person. Although I never kept in touch with him after we graduated, I never forgot his insights and wisdom.

Mr. E. was my 5th grade teacher at Washington elementary in Madera Ca. He was my very first favorite teacher. I remember he always his mints with him and a treasure box for kids to pull something out of if you had been good all week and never had to turn your card over. Mr. E. cared a great lot for all of his students. He not only taught us scholastics but he taught us about life! You will be greatly missed Mr. E.

I had the opportunity to work with Ed at Washington School in 1997-1999. I was the Vice Principal and he was a 5th Grade Teacher. Ed was great with the students and had excellent rapport with the staff. Ed, Raul Lozano (Washington's Principal) and I would meet occasionally after work and talk about music trivia. Ed was an expert on the topic. Ed was a positive influence on all his students in Madera Unified. He will be missed.

Meg & family, my deepest condolences on Ed's passing. I am going to miss that beautiful Voice! He was such a good man to work with at Washington & Nishimoto. I loved running in to him at the casino, he was there to "tickle the nickels". He will truly be missed.
