This is Marvin Derrick. I am a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Rockford, Illinois. Ed "Eddie" was a good friend. We got our Eagle Scout Award together. We had great memories.

Ed, you left way to soon . I can think of so many times we hiked in Yosemite, Red House Ranch, 49er summer camp and canoeing down the Russian River . Your sense of humor and making the rank of Eagle Scout . May the Lord comfort the family during this loss, Leo Volkert

Ed, I am so sad that you had to leave so soon.. you were a friend, a mentor and an amazing boss. I learned so much from you and will be forever grateful to have known you. Maybe someday I will write the book we all laughed about with all the crazy stories we just couldn't make up. I miss you

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ed when we started our metal detection process while I was managing the Clearlake Branch of the Lake County Superior Court. Ed was most professional and courteous.
My sincerest condolences to the family and friends during this painful and difficult time.

Ed was a very nice guy. He always had a smile. I knew him from Leroy Nichols, and troop 295 BSA. We went on 50 mile hikes through Yosemite or 50 mile river runs down the Russian River during our time in the scouts.

Ed was a wonderful man. He was very open and always had a smile when he saw you. I enjoyed sitting and talking with him and we could talk on any subject.
When I first came to the main site in Livermore Ed was one of the first to welcome me and I really miss him as I´m sure many of his friends miss him.

Ed was a high school classmate and fellow scout in troop 295. So many great memories, he was such a nice guy.

Wow...shocking news. So sorry to read about Ed´s passing.
Ed and I spent our younger years together in the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Frieda was my Cub Scout Den Mother and Merle was my Scout Master. I remember summer camps at Camp 49´r, and weekends at Red House Ranch or on the Mokelumne River behind Clements. Plus, we had the Scout Jamboree; swag sales and Xmas tree collections. When we weren´t involved in scouting activities, Ed and I could be found playing football or baseball on the Nichols schoolyard.
Lots of great memories.
