Edward Garfield Miles Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2025.
Edward (Ed) Garfield Miles, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a resident of Folsom CA passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Ed was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on February 12, 1936 to his parents Rydello and Tressie (Berg) Miles. His parents brought his family to San Francisco in 1945. He graduated High School from Balboa HS in 1954. Ed met the love of his life, Donna Turner, and they were married on August 17, 1958 in Reno, NV. In 2017 his beloved wife Donna passed away after 59 years of marriage.

They moved to Pacifica, CA in 1958 where they started their family and were blessed with five children, Kathleen, Greg (Vicky), Deanna (David), Karen (Randy), and Mitchell (passed 2002). He leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was a Union Meat Cutter and Meat Manager for his career that included working for Little Mans Market, Super X, Brentwood Markets, and then ending his career with Safeway in 1998. Ed was active in youth sports coaching and working on Little League and Pony League Baseball Boards. He was an active member of the Sharp Park Men's Golf Club and always enjoyed playing Bay Area Golf Courses. Ed and Donna also enjoyed their nights out at Nick's Restaurant.

Ed and Donna retired and moved to Folsom, CA in 1998. He enjoyed his retirement playing golf at El Dorado Hills GC and Empire Ranch GC where he also worked as the course's golf marshal. Golfers at the course always loved their interaction with Ed and his big smile on his face.

The family will be holding a Graveside Service only. We have set up a link if you would like to send photos or messages. The link is: https://greenvalleymortuary.com/obituaries/edward-miles
