Ed was there when I first came to the Detroit Presbytery in 1992. He was a good friend and colleague in ministry. We had lots of good talks. Evelyn, Karen and I remember lots of good times we had with you too. You are in our prayers.

My condolences to Ed Gehres' family. Ed was such a thoughtful and kind person. Ed and Evelyn were also great chefs. They prepared a few feasts at First Pres. At one of them we had roast beef. Someone next to me in line asked what was the main course. I saw that Ed and Eve were within earshot so I responded, "Old dead cow." Ed and Eve had a good laugh about that.

Ed stepped up and came to my family's needs so tenderly and was such a great source of relief and care to my family in Decatur August 1978 when my dad, Bill Christiansen, died. I will forever hold Ed in my heart for this -and always have! condolences to his family. I have yet to find a church with the likes of Ed Gehres or Festus Paul to belong to. Heaven gained another angel!
