Edward U. Graham, 68, of Mercer, passed away peacefully from an extended illness, after a brave five year battle, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and son-in-law on Friday, February 14, 2020.
Ed was born on April 22, 1951 in Chambersburg, PA, Franklin County, the son of Floyd & Mabel Graham. Ed is survived by the love of his life, Susan, whom he married on May 8, 1971, a son, Timothy Graham of West Middlesex, PA and daughter, Michelle (Neil) Ostheimer of Sharon, PA, and his grandchildren, Jenson & Abigail Ostheimer. Ed is also survived by two brothers, Joseph (Vivienne) Graham of Mercer, PA, Robert Graham of Mercer, PA, and a sister, Mary Nicholes of Lake City, PA, as well as many cousins, nieces, & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed graduated from Mercer High School and worked for the PA Game Commission and the PA Department of Transportation. He spent his time cherishing his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved sitting on the porch with Susan watching the birds. He was a giving and generous man to everyone he met and made sure they were taken care of before himself.
Ed was an amazing father to his children. He only topped that by being an even more phenomenal Pap Pap to Jenson, Abby, and his chosen granddaughter, Braiden Douds. He loved them beyond measure and spent every moment he could with them. He taught them about his garden, made tents, snow forts, and caught lightning bugs with them every chance he could. He adored them all and imparted to them wisdom and lessons that will forever shape their lives.
He was a wonderful friend and neighbor, always the first one to offer help and generous in his assistance. He will be missed more than any words could ever express. He was loved and cherished. We all knew what a beautiful life we had because of him.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering for Ed on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Helen Black Memorial Chapel, 119 South Pitt Street, Mercer, PA 16137 from 2-4:00 PM.
