Edward B. Hamilton, age 86, passed away Saturday January 7, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Lawrenceburg. He was born August 31, 1936, in Brown County Ohio a son to Elijah Barnes Hamilton and Emma Alice Bantrum Hamilton. In March of 1959 Edward married the love of his life Mary Whisman in Flemmingsburg, KY. In 1973 Ed and Mary were able to purchase the family farm in Sunman, making it home to his family of 5 children.
Ed was a hard worker providing for his family retiring as a Union Carpenter. He always stayed busy doing side jobs hanging drywall. After retirement he enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting small game. He enjoyed family get togethers and would always be the first one there, but once his belly was full, he was ready to head home.
Survived to cherish the memories of Ed is his wife of 62 years Mary Hamilton; 5 children: Michael Hamilton of Batesville, Marsha Hamilton of Milan, Karen (Jeff) Hofmann of Sunman, Sharon (David) Young of Sunman and David (Erica) Hamilton of Jacksonville, FL. 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.
Friends and family are invited to Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home 107 Vine St. Sunman on Wednesday, January 11, 2022. Visitation will be 11:00 am up to the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow service at St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman.
