I knew a man, we called "Big Ed",
He truly loved the life he led.
He spread his love of life to others,
Giving to children, men, and mothers.
His smile was warm,
His heart always open,
His faith he had in God,
Kept him hoping.
His love for family, friends, and all,
His arms to catch you when you'd fall.
When God made him, He broke the mold,
His pledge in life to never get "old".
He so enjoyed God's green earth,
Every gift, and every birth.
So as his life's at journey's end,
I know my gift was to call him "friend".
Our heartfelt sorrow and wishes of comfort to all Ed's family,
Fred and Judy Clark

To The Hayden Family; Please accept our deepest sympathy for the passing of your Dad! We got to know Ed when he built our house on Old Colchester Rd.with his two sons Rob & Mike. We developed a friendship with Ed lasting well beyond the home building. He was a very fair & just man who will be missed and remembered by many who's lives he touched.

I'll alway's think of you Ed when I'm passing through Ct. and poling on the Natchaug river. I'll miss your everpresent smile, handshake, and 'positive' criticism on poling technique. (you son-of-gun you!) Janet, our path's may never cross again, but I'll alway's remember your kindness and muffin's at the Natchaug poling clinic's. Ed will truely be missed by many, and that, is a sign of greatness in life.
Amen. .....I'll miss you
