HOLE, Edward Glancefield (Ted) 1926 - 2003 It is with sadness that Her Honour, Lieutenant Governor Lois E. Hole, announces the passing of her husband, Ted. Ted Hole passed away peacefully on the evening of March 26 at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Hole was born in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1926. After graduating from Edmonton's Victoria High School, he attended the University of Alberta, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1952. He later purchased a small farm in the St. Albert area and established the family business, Hole's Greenhouses & Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Lois; his two sons, Bill and Jim; his daughters-in-law, Valerie and Marcia; and his three grandchildren, Michael, Kathryn and Emma. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karin, in 1954; by three brothers, Bill, Bob, and Jack; and by his mother and father, Annie and Harry. Mr. Hole was an active community member with a distinguished record of community service. The Hole family has asked that people wishing to make donations in Mr. Hole's memory direct their contributions to the Hole's Greenhouses & Gardens Care and Nurture Scholarship, care of the University of Alberta. The scholarship program, established by the Hole family, provides assistance for students in financial need. A Memorial Service for Ted Hole will be held at the Winspear Centre at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 31st.
