Edward Kezer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2023.
Edward Arthur Kezer, 69, of Lewiston passed away August 8th, 2023. He was born January 17th, 1954 in Newton, Massachusetts - the son of Arthur and Alma Kezer.

He grew up in Maynard, Massachusetts and was a nurse by trade but entrepreneurial and industrious since his youth. He believed in education and was proud of being a PhD candidate.

Ed made a point to make everyone feel welcome. You could count on being greeted with "are ya hungry?" if you visited - he was an excellent cook. Family was everything to him and was most happy surrounded by those he loved. He treasured family time over the years at camp in Plymouth, Hampton Beach, and in Florida.

He loved his dogs, traveling, fishing, spending time outdoors, and was an avid history enthusiast. Ed was well known for his wide-ranging eclectic hobbies - a collector of many things. He was a compassionate and generous man of many talents and interests. Ed had a great sense of humor. He was an incredible father and grandfather.

Ed is survived by his son Joshua Kezer and his wife Jessica; son Justin Kezer and his wife Tesla; cherished grandchildren Jacob and Jackson; uncle Ken Kezer and his wife Pauline; sister Donna and husband John; sister Nancy and husband John; nephew Jay; nieces Melissa and Jessica; and their families.

Ed also leaves behind his partner of over 20 years, Cindy Devitt; her children, Sam; Sadie and husband Jay; Maggie and husband Matt; Clae and husband Bryce; Duke and wife Anna; and many grandchildren.

Ed was loved deeply and will be missed profoundly by so many. Per his wishes there will be no services. To honor Ed, please create a memory and enjoy a meal with someone you love.

I miss Ed. he was very much so my grandfather. I don't think I ever told him I loved him... That's gonna eat me up for the rest of my life. I'm glad I can only picture him smiling.

My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Ed. He was a special man! Intelligent, thoughtful, kind, caring and always willing to help someone. Enjoyed long conversations with him regarding how much he loved his LADY Cindy, and their wonderful trips and projects; and how he spoke so proudly of his children, grandchildren, and fur babies. He loved to share his coin collection, historical facts and items, and spoke highly of Dr Jordan Peterson, Canadian Psychologist, Professor, and Author. He is fondly thought of and missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed first at Riverview, and most recently at SMRMC. He was always supportive and enjoyed looking at ways to improve our work environment using his clinical skills while taking time to brighten our lives. A true pleasure to work with! He was a colleague, a mentor, and a friend. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace my friend.

Oh Cindy, I am so sorry for your loss. Ed was a great guy and you made an awesome couple! He was so easy-going and laid back, got along with everyone. I'm shocked, I had no idea he was ill. My sincerest sympathies to you and your family.
