Edward W. Landis

Edward W. Landis, 79, of Palmyra, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005, in the Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Hummelstown on October 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Margaret Reinhart Landis.
Ed retired after 46 years of service as a supplier in the Wrapping Department of the Hershey Chocolate Company.
He had attended Hummelstown Schools. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served with the Seabee's in the South Pacific in World War II. He was a member of The Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra. Ed was also a member of the Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687, Hummelstown. He was an avid golfer and woodworker.
Ed was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. Landis on December 21, 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Geier Landis, whom he married on June 19, 1948; one son, William C. Landis, husband of Lisa M. Hermansky Landis of Hershey; a spare son, David P. Krosevic, husband of Judy Bowers Krosevic and their family of Hummelstown; one daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Wilson Landis of Palmyra; one step-granddaughter, Katie S. Royer of Hershey; one step-sister, Elizabeth S. Wolf of Palmyra; and several aunts, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, with the Rev. Fr. Christopher Oranyeli, O.P., as celebrant. Interment with military honors will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Friends are invited to call Sunday, January 1, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Trefz and Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078; to the Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 311, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-0311; or to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.
