Edward LANG Obituary

LANG _Edward passed away peacefully on February 28, 2004 at the age of 68 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born June 26, 1935 in Scott, SK. Ed touched many lives by his kindness and generosity and he will be dearly missed, but not forgotten by those that knew and loved him. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Kay; son, Wes (Laureen) and their children, Tyler, Ashley, Chad and Brett; daughter, Sheila (Fred) Volk and their children, Cody and Jeremy; son, Blair; son, Trevor (Joanne) and their children, Cara and Brooke; sisters, Helen (Ed) Bitz; Lena (Royden) Ellard; Fran (Stan) Kerr; brother, Pius and friend, Lorna; and brother-in-law, Elmer Chmil; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by parents, Balzer and Rose Lang; sisters, Evelyn Chmil and Betty Schell; brother-in-law, Irvin Schell. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation and sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and St. Paul's Palliative Care for the compassionate care they provided to Ed. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Fr. Remi Hebert. Both services will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 211 Ave. O South. Interment of Ed's cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul's Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to the SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME.
