Nancy Lapekas

A day does not go by without remembering with gratitude the life that my brother had and the close relationships that he had with so many others. It warms my heart to know that he was remembered by so many. Missing him dearly.

Ed was a year ahead of me at Albion and was the Pledge Trainer for my group of Sigma Nu pledges. He was one of my favorite fraternity brothers, although we weren't really close friends. He was always thoughtful of others and, to me, was much like a pledges big brother. It is not surprising to learn that he lived such a fulfilling life - wish we had had a chance to renew our friendship again after leaving Albion.

I knew Ed as student at Albion College in the 1960's, and the words that best described him then apparently did not change during his life. He was a gentleman, a kind person, an intelligent, thoughtful person and most of all loyal to his friends. We became close friends in our last two years through student government and student resident advisors. We had mmany wornderful and long conversations. We lost contact and it saddens me that he has passed away, but it makes me happy to know that he lived so well and was loved by so many.

I met Ed when he first came to Continental Can Company. I remember him as a "class act," fun guy and very intelligent. He went on to a very successful and accomplished career in the primary packaging industry. We kept in loose touch over the years, and I've always admired him. I just found about his passing the CCC Veterans' newsletter, so I extend my condolences to his family. I also honor his service in the Army. Being the modest guy he was, he never talked about it. Rest in Peace Ed. Your legacy will endure. Richard J. Nicholson

"And He will raise Him up on eagle's wings, bear him on the breath of dawn, make Him to shine like the sun and hold Him in the palm of His hands"
Prayers, peace, comfort, support, an abundance of hugs to his family. He sounds like a remarkable man that was my DEAR friend, Nancy's big brother. If I may, I have a feeling he'll be an Archangel or Warrior. God bless you all.

To my Dear Brother,
You lived a life full of grace and love toward others, and even in your dying days, showed graciousness. I miss you more than words can express. Your Sister, Nancy

I remember Eddie well from our Pennfield High School days. He was a great guy back then and it is clear he continued to be a great guy during his lifetime as a husband, father, grandfather, veteran and leader. I am not surprised. My sympathy to his wife and children.

Ed was a leader all of his life and obviously contributed greatly to society through his military and industrial leadership. My condolences to his family and my high school friend, Ron, in particular.
